Being a home inspector is something I’ve thought about myself, at least as a part-time job. I decided against it for several reasons but those reasons are particular to me such as severe allergies and being sensitive to hot temperatures and too much sun. In other words, Texas summers are brutal for me. It’s a shame because I love to look at houses. I enjoy looking at the architectural designs, the floor plans, the various unique and sometimes baffling features. Enjoying those things is probably why I love watching HGTV.
Do any of those things appeal to you? Do you enjoy the idea of being your own boss? If any of the things I’ve mentioned are of interest you might want to watch this short video. It’s not the standard type of A Day in the Life series. This video approaches the job from a different angle, one of myth-busting. The video is directed at Maryland residents but the concepts all apply here in Texas and probably in every other state. There may be small differences but the reality is houses need to be inspected before being sold in the regular real estate market (I’m not talking about cash flips and things like that). If you are interested, look up the Texas requirements.
I did have a bit of a problem with the audio on this video. I had to turn the volume up quite a bit to hear her. However, I liked what she had to say enough to post it anyway.
